Home > Resources > Bequests > Tips - the language of Bequests Tips - The Language of Bequests Congratulations for considering leaving a bequest to the Anglican Diocese of Wellington.This brief document is intended to make the visit to your solicitor a little easier. Any bequests to the Diocese for general purposes will be added to General Trusts, which provides income to pay for: the Bishop's office; clergy training and conferences; hospital chaplaincies; ministry to youth and to children and families; and the general running costs of the Anglican Centre. Bequests can also be directed to a parish for general purposes or any special purpose you wish to support. If a special purpose is your preference, you should try to ensure that it is broad enough to be workable over time. In all cases the most suitable custodian for any bequest is the Wellington Diocesan Board of Trustees. It is a statutory entity whose function is to hold money and property in trust.
