The Parish of Eastern Wanganui (PEW) is comprised of four worship centres, St John's Matawara and St Mary's Upokongaro which are both rural churches and St Barnabas, Durie Hill and All Saints Church, East Wanganui Village.

The mission of the parish is "We love God and actively live our lives for God." There is a strong sense of fellowship and belonging in this parish. The smaller congregations support one another for festive occasions and other parish events. We value our church heritage and tradition while also having a heart for missional outreach, supporting our local communities and social services.
