City Missioner: Murray Edridge
The Wellington City Mission has been helping Wellingtonians in need since 1904 when it was part of St. Peter's Church. In 1929, an Act of Parliament established The Mission as a separate entity.
The Mission prides itself on being open to anyone who needs assistance, regardless of religious belief, age, ethnicity or social background. Our four Mission programmes (Families, Youth, Independence and Seniors) assist a range of people living in Greater Wellington's communities. The Mission also operates an elder care residential facility, Kemp Home & Hospital.
We believe in providing holistic support to those who need help, offering access to all our programmes in response to need. Together, we work to identify and address people's underlying issues to create positive outcomes.
Empowerment. Transformation. Fullness of Life.
