Rathkeale College Commissioning

Update: 7 March 13

Bishop Justin at Rathkeale College, Masterton

Rathkeale College warmly welcomed Bishop Justin last week to commission the 12 new School Prefects for 2013 and to install a new Chaplain. Rathkeale is one of the Trinity family of Anglican Schools in Masterton, which includes Hadlow School and St Matthew's Collegiate, who also had their Prefects commissioned.

Josh McKay, Head Boy   Bishop Justin  Sean Pearless, Prefect

In his sermon, Bishop Justin spoke of a personal experience tramping in the Tararuas, from the North to the South, with a group of friends. When one of the party became ill, Bishop Justin stayed to assist his friend rather than continue the tramp with the others. This situation demonstrated that caring for each other, looking out for each other, is more important than individual achievement; a good lesson for these school leaders to consider.

Bishop Justin also installed Rathkeale's new Chaplain, Ben Arcus, who has recently arrived from teaching at St Peter's College in Auckland. Ben hopes to be Ordained a Deacon later in the year.
